Shurba ( The oats soup) Ingredients: Oats ¾ cup Meat ½ kg Oil 1/8 cup Onion 2 Tomatoes 2 Ginger garlic paste 2 tsp Tomato paste 2 tbsp Salt 1 tsp or to taste Red chili powder 1 tsp Turmeric powder ½ tsp Water 1- 2 -6 cups as shown in the video Cinnamon sticks 2 Dry coriander powder 2 tbsp heap full
Direction:
In a pressure cooker add onion, tomatoes, g.g paste and 1 cup water
After 2 whistles turn the burner off
Now blend the mixture into a smooth paste
Again pour the mixture in the pressure cooker and add meat and spices… salt, chili powder and turmeric
Add 2 cups of water or enough water to tenderize the meat
After 10 – 15 minutes of whistles turn the burner off
Now add oil, cinnamon sticks, dry coriander powder and tomato paste. Cook till oil comes on the top.
Now add Quaker oats and 6 cups of water and cook for 20 to 30 minutes… stirring occasionally till it comws in the soupy consistency…
And its ready
Serve hot with diced cumber and tomatoes and squeeze a lemon on the top … enjoy
